Claudia Schwarz, owner at Hotel Villa Taina, never ceases to make the community and us proud with her caring acts for those in need. She has now teamed up with another caring and loving member of the Cabarete family, Lole Sumer, owner of Natura Cabana. Friends for years, the pair of Cabarete hoteliers have been visiting Casa Nazaret for the past two years, and both feel incredibly passionate about the casa and what they do. Casa Nazaret is an orphanage in Puerto Plata offering love to 16 disabled children. This extraordinary home is run single-handedly by the truly inspirational Sister Mercedes, or as the children know her “mommy.”
We are extremely excited to have them all visit Villa Taina soon for an afternoon of beach fun and pizza. We’d love to welcome anyone willing to offer support for the children and Sister Mercedes. Plans are in the works, so stay tuned! Until then, we’ll keep you all updated with photos and stories because there is no website, Facebook, or anything of the sort for Casa Nazaret. We assume that’s because Sister Mercedes does it for the love of the children, not the publicity, fame, or money.
