Villa Taina was born in 1996 in its first appearance on the main road in Cabarete with only 12 rooms.

The name pays homage to the indigenous Indian tribe the "Tainos".

We are proud to be a huge part of the history and the development of Cabarete. In the late 80's when we arrived in this small coastal town we came for the incredible nature, the laid back locals and the Caribbean lifestyle which is still a great part of Cabarete.

We were welcomed and enjoyed the property of this fantastic stretch of beach which we call Cabarete Bay.

During all those years we have learned to appreciate the Dominican people and their ever giving friendship. We have had the opportunity to say thank you by organizing and executing several National as well as International events in Cabarete and to be the organiser for 6 years in a roll for an Outreach program through the NYU (New York University) - Dental department to offer free dental health care during this outreach for the low income areas surrounding Cabarete. It was an amazing and very humbling experience.

We have been also trail blazing the sustainability in Cabarete by installing a fully Biological operated sewage treatment plant which went in service in 2000. We have connected all our neighbors and count the equivalent of more than 600 households to be treated every day, 365 days a year for more than 22 years.
